Wallpaper: How to Give Life to Your Walls!

Wallpaper is a quick, practical and economical alternative for those who want to give a new look to the environment.

The double bedroom often deserves greater attention as some walls are monotonous in appearance. But, before putting the project into practice, it is necessary to consider some peculiarities.

The market has a very wide variety of wallpaper, with various textures, patterns, colors and prints.

However, and before buying your wallpaper, think about the rest of the decoration and try to always combine it with the patterns and decoration of each space, in order to give some coherence as a whole.

If the space has many colors and textures, a more neutral and sober wallpaper is recommended. Already a double room that has basic style furniture, the ideal is to opt for more exuberant and modern models.

You can also mix patterns and textures, however be careful with this option so as not to overdo it and not to make the space cluttered and out of place.

Don’t forget: the wallpaper must show the personality of its users, tastes and needs.

Wallpaper Types

Vinyls have a plastic appearance because they are made of PVC or coated with a layer of vinyl. This type of wallpaper can be washed with soap or neutral detergent.

This feature makes the wallpaper more resistant to light and heat and gives it greater resistance and durability.

Another important feature is that vinyl wallpapers are thicker and have texture. Because its composition is mostly made of paper, this is an ecological product, fully recyclable and simple to remove.

It can be used in any space even with high moisture content, such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. Its application is made with water-based glue.

TNT (non-woven fabric) is a type of wallpaper made with natural (cotton and wool) and synthetic (polyester and polypropylene) fibers.

As its name implies, it has the appearance of fabric, but its composition is also based on cellulose.

Like vinyl wallpaper, TNT has good moisture resistance and can be used in areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Another similarity is that this type of paper can be used on surfaces with small imperfections and can be washed.

This type of wallpaper has an EVA layer on its surface, which allows cleaning to be done with mild soap and a soft sponge. Its duration is approximately 12 years.

Of all types of wallpaper, this is undoubtedly the most glamorous and exquisite. It has a velvet texture, which gives greater sophistication to the environment and space. It is indicated for areas with little movement and should not be exposed to the sun as it gradually loses its color.

They are very sensitive, so they should only be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

High relief

High-relief wallpaper is made with some foam “injections” that give the coating a “cute” look. If you have pets, like cats and dogs, it is best to avoid this type of coating.

It is indicated for dry and damp environments and cleaning must be done with a vacuum cleaner, so as not to damage the paper texture.

Traditional wallpapers are made from cellulose, that is, it is the paper itself. They have several types of prints and have a smooth and dry appearance.

Ideally, this type of paper should be applied to smooth walls to ensure the desired result, as it does not hide imperfections.

It is one of the most sought after and used types of wallpaper in decoration and is indicated to be applied in drier environments, so that the paper does not suffer damages caused by humidity.

Also called contact, this product has revolutionized the world of interior decoration due to its application. Once applied, it looks exactly like another wallpaper, however, it is a wall sticker.

Unlike older traditional models, this product is made of adhesive vinyl, a synthetic material with a plastic texture (PVC) that has characteristics of both vinyl and vinyl wallpaper.

Produced through the digital printing process, it has thinner thickness and smooth finish, without texture.

After application, this product can be cleaned with a damp cloth and sponge, without rubbing.

Important note: the surface to be applied must be smooth, clean and with a paint finish. Do not apply directly on plaster, putty or plaster.

They can be used on various surfaces such as furniture, doors and tiles, for example.
